Guest guest
I used a kinetic house tree person for most of my assessments. It found it extremely helpful in getting to know my client and setting up groups. I was thinking about this yesterday and thinking that if I were in the same situation again, I would also do a quick genogram when possible. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I recommend using the Diagnostic Drawing Series (DDS; http://www.diagnosticdrawingseries.com/). It has a lot of research backing it up that supports its validity and reliability both as an assessment tool as well as a diagnostic tool. There is also a listserv where you can communicate with other practitioners using this tool, as well as with the DDS creators and the DDS archive manager (The National Archive is based in the DC area). The link to the yahoo group is: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/DiagnosticDrawingSeries/join. You do not have to know how to " score " or rate the assessment in order to administer it. Additionally, there will be a DDS training (for those interested in better learning about the history, background and applications of this tool) at the Expressive Therapies Summit in NYC in November 2012. http://summit.expressivemedia.org/. Hope this helps.
