Guest guest
Hi ,,, Yep it's rainy here and cool (30's & 40's)... Do you garden? You should be able to garden year round in Texas, the heat in the summer must be killer though. That is my 'ME' thing, I garden, and this year mostly in 'Purple Veggies' ,,, I even have Purple Carrots', Asparagus, Beans, Collards, Peppers, Purplehull Peas and more. BoB Bob BTW, How is the weather up there in Rainy Washington ? I do not miss the rain that much even when I lived in the desert, and now here in Semi-tropical Texas, still get a lot of rain. Guest guest
\Bob I try to garden, its not quite the same as when I was in Washington. The part of Texas I am in does not get very hot in the summer.Thats cool about your purple veggies! Is there a story behind that?We are unable to have apple trees here produce as there is not long enough cold spell for them. But other trees, peaches, plums, pears, orange, grapefruit....And of course the pecans (The squirrels sure enjoy tthose) This area is very good for those interested in bird watching. We are on one of the major migration paths, also for the Monarch Butterflies. And the wildflowers are blooming all over the place- bluebonnets of course, and others. Do you also grow berries? I miss them so much! Bob BTW, How is the weather up there in Rainy Washington ? Guest guest
Bob, We don't worry a whole lot about remaining strictly on topic here... There are so many excellent Thyroid support groups and all provide a ton of info... we do here, too... but also believe that one of the goals of a support group is to support in everyday things as well... that's why we talk about ME projects and share jokes and get to know each other a bit too... We don't want to go too far out.. but I think it's pretty cool to be able to boast about your days activities in whatever hobbies ring your bell with folks that understand just what an accomplishment it was to finish your day and have some fun... I think most of us know what it's like sometimes just to complete the day.. and that to have enough energy and enthusiasm left at the end of it to jump into a ME time project is something deserving of a little boasting! *smile* We're pretty proud to be included in a great circle of support groups. Bob, your name is looking familiar.. you're also involved in one of the gardening groups that I'm a member of, right? Quite colorful at maturity but brilliant at "baby" stages. 70 days mature, and are new to me.. did you know that 'orange' is really relivtively new for carrots? throughout history carrots were mostly white or yellow. Purple Veggies I believe have anti cancer properties and I hope will be good for what is left of my thyroid from the RAI in 82 (to keep this on topic ) ). Guest guest
Whoa, hold on a minute.... does blood pressure and thyroid problems go hand in hand? Please explain. > We would love some rain, please send it on down under. > > Pam > > Radioactive Mamma > Re: RAI Recovery!! > > > Hi Amber ,,, Good Dosages are what make you feel as close to " NORMAL " as you can and is very indivigalistic (is that a word?) good Doctors' will use the lab work as a guide but 'Listen to You' and adjust it to how 'You' are feeling... That said , Levothroid is T4 and Cytomel is T3, both hormones that your thyroid used to provide for you. I take both myself, adding T3 to my T4 (for about three years now) made me feel much better and even lowered my blood pressure to the point I no longer take any BP meds, I was taking two BP meds . Good Luck ,,, let us know how you are doing. > > BoB > > > >
Guest guest
Hi , Not all of us have and Radiation.. although, several of us have, myself included.... There are a lot of thyroid lists.. each focuses on different things.. We're a little more laid back here.. wanting to have a place to visit and blow steam and share info too... and have a little fun knowing that we can talk about our pains, troubles, and achievements with others that know how much it means to be able to finish daily chores without falling flat on your face. Tell us a bit more about yourself and what you are seeking in a group.. We're here to help each other out.. ...and if you decide that we aren't what you're looking for in a group.. that's fine too.. we all belong to several, I'm sure that we'll still be seeing you around, even if it's not here.... Guest guest
Hi , I have Hashimoto's and Hashitoxicosis. I have not had RAI and I probably won't, even though my endo said it would be the quickest way to achieve something that will happen anyway. I don't remember if you said what your dx was--do you have autoimmune disease? Molly Re: BOB > can i ask who here besides me has not had radiation? > Am I on the wrong list?
