Guest guest
Kat, I understand that you are getting a specific message directly from the insurance company, but their actions speak much louder than that representative's words. Aetna has been reimbursing my LCAT license, my company's LCAT licensing registration, and many others, such as Natasha, as out of network providers since 2007, without incident (in my experience). Never a problem with our invoices or CPT codes. Excellent reimbursement rates. Also, Aetna briefly accepted LCATs into their network a few years ago, as one poster noted yesterday. Aetna is familiar with our license and has paid for our services for several years. They made a decision to remove our license from their in-network provider list. But, as I stated before, Aetna is not accepting new professionals of any license right now. I tried to apply with my LCSW and was also rejected in both Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley. My experience with insurance companies is that you get a different answer depending on the day, time and who you talk to. That doesn't mean we shouldn't keep advocating for in-network status. I think that it would be great. But I think Aetna is pretty great already, because they pay me so well to see out-of-network clients.
