Guest guest
Barb, You know, we let our docs by with stuff that we would never tolerate from our auto mechanic. I still think they should not get paid if they cannot make a diagnosis. That going home and putting your feet up routine is typical of so many doctors. Too sad! Good for you! Guest guest
Barb, Bless your heart you deserve a purple star for sure. I heard that K-Mart ran a blue light special for a few years on MD phony papers.. I think at some point we have all had a taste of what you are saying. CREEP. I hope you didn't pay him.. That's the worst thing I can think of to do to them...I hope your feet and legs go down quickly. God Bless...Peggy 09/04 ipf Hey, Group: I believe all the stress over my lung disease issues and Deborah's thyroid cancer issue has finally gotten to me. My left leg and foot are severely swollen and some on my right leg too. It hurts. Anyway, I went and seen my primary care physician about this problem. My nerves are shot so I AM kinda snappy. Anyway, I told him about my problems and handed him what Dr. Kraman had written about my new diagnosis and some copies of what this new disease is all about that I had retrieved from web sites. Long story short, I asked him what was wrong with me and he said huh? I am one of those persons who hate the word huh? for understandable reasons. Anyway, He huhed one too many times so I shouted it at him. He told me if I was going to shout, I could find a new Dr. Then I flew hot. I told him I already found another Dr. and that if he had taken an x-ray of my lungs during the time I coughed my head off for well over a year, that we would of found this damn lung disease a lot earlier. He said. I don't believe that. I told him, I DO!! Then I said to him, Your a doctor, I am in your office and you took an oath, now what the hell is wrong with me? You should of seen the look of astoundment on his face. He had never seen me mad before. He had only seen me happy go lucky or very pleasant. He told me I was just holding too many fluids and to stay in bed with my feet propped up for a couple of days and that all my vitals were okay, but my sugar was up a little. That pissed me off too. A LITTLE UP? 311 is a little up? I just looked at him and shook my head and got up and left. In my mind, if God had not intervened and sent that blood clot to my lung, I never would of wound up in the hospital and had x-rays and cat scans to show that I had a lung disease when I did. AT that time I had 61% of my lungs left. Then came the wrong diagnosis of IPF which I was told was not caused by smoking. So, I continued to smoke. Now, with 50% of my lungs left, I get a different diagnosis that says if I DO quit smoking, I have a chance of my lungs not getting anymore damage. I have no idea where in the crap these Doctors around here got their medical degree's. Probably out of some cracker jack box. Thanks for letting me vent. Guest guest
Hey, Joyce: I am sure that my car has had better diagnostics and treatment than I have had. You know, for supposedly living in the best Country, it is really sad how the doctors have come to treat the patients. Anyway, left foot still hurts pretty bad and is badly swollen. Guess I need to get back to bed and get it elevated. Have a wonderful day. Barb in KYJoyce wrote: Barb, You know, we let our docs by with stuff that we would never tolerate from our auto mechanic. Guest guest
.... if you think socialized medicine could be better ... look at BBC's TV comedy, " My Hero " (superhero from the planet Ultron marries earthgirl, he's GOOD but, clueless!) in which Thermonman's alter ego, Sunday's, wife Janet is a nurse at a clinic run by a dr. who is more poseur than dr. and, the recepionist is Freddy Krueger's and 's evil stepsister! The worst thing is that Piers (the dr's name) is " ... always here " . Brrr .... Phred ---- Original Message ---- From: babs594@... Guest guest
Good for you Barb. Sometimes, nice, just doesnt get thier attention. Hang in there, you have really been through it. Being strong and stoic is one thing, but sometimes we have to let people know we've had enough!!! And minimillizing your health problems are absolutely NOT acceptable!!! It does make you wonder where they got thier degree's - Mc D's Medical school my "Hamurbers"?? lynnA > >> > Hey, Group: I believe all the stress over my lung disease issues > > and Deborah's thyroid cancer issue has finally gotten to me.
