Nowhere in the article does the practitioner call it dance therapy. It looks to me like the magazine and/or the auther named it that for their story. I suggest that you write a letter to the editor of the Journal about your concerns.

Sincerely,

Debra Vivi Steinfeld, Art Therapist

Subject: Poughkepsie Journal article on dance therapy

HI Everyone,

I saw this article in the Living and Being insert of the Poughkeepsie Journal. Rather disturbing that they are calling their work dance therapy especially after all of our work for licensure. Here's a copy of the cover of the magazine which says : Dance therapy sets the spirit free.

It's concerning that someone can go to Kripala and receive certificate in one week and call themselves a dance therapist. Who would one contact about this regarding licensure? Joan Wittig are you on this list? Here's the online version of the article. http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/article/20120325/LIFE08/303250022/JourneyDance-frees-soul?nclick_check=1

Thanks,

Theresa Haney
