Seeking dynamic Director of Therapeutic Recreation and Creative Arts at Bishop Henry B. Hucles Episcopal Nursing Home in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

Qualifications include:

·        MA in art, music, dance/movement, expressive arts, drama or poetry therapy

·        Licensed creative arts therapist with minimum three years supervisory experience

·        Geriatric and long-term care experience required

·        Knowledge of and experience with MDS 3.0 and QIS survey preparation

·        Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills

 

Duties and Job Functions include:

·       Plan, organize, schedule and direct therapeutic recreation and creative arts therapies program to fulfill physical, mental and psychosocial needs for residents in a 240 bed nursing home

·       Supervise team of full-time and part-time creative arts therapists and recreation leaders

·       Direct volunteer program, including intergenerational programs

·       Coordinate monthly staff scheduling, payroll processing and supervision of documentation process in accordance with federal and state health codes

·       Coordinate special events

·       Participate in Quality Improvement measures with interdisciplinary team

·       Balance and maintain fiscally responsible budget
