Guest guest
Hi everyone, I know that at some point this has probably been discussed to death..but in my fog, I cannot find when or where so that I can get the info I need. So, here goes.... I just went to a new doc (still not sure if I like her or not..but hey...at least she has fibro too! don't know if that is good or bad) and she put me on Zanaflex. Would those of you who take this, or who have taken it, please tell me of your experiences with it? So far all it is doing for me is making me feel like I've had about 3 or 4 good stiff drinks of booze on an empty stomach (this happens about an hour after I take it and it lasts for...oh...2 or 3 hours???). As yet it has done nothing for my pain; I just feel like a drunk who hurts like he**! Thanks everyone, Pixi
Guest guest
Pixie, My neurologist tried me on Zanaflex and, while it didn't get me " high " , it did make my pain much worse. I threw it away after taking one dose, lol! cyn At 04:35 PM 7/26/2004 +0000, Pixi, just, Pixi wrote: >Hi everyone, >I know that at some point this has probably been discussed to >death..but in my fog, I cannot find when or where so that I can get >the info I need. Guest guest
Hi Cyn, I had an absolutely HORRIBLE flare (to the point of sobbing hysterically I was in so much pain) about 6 hours after my first dose and I've had the most horrible headache for 2 days now. I had almost no sleep last night because of my head hurting. I'm going to give it one more day to see if my body " adjusts " to it...but if not...if I have another day like the last few: it is in the trash! And I will be on the phone to the new doc. Guest guest
Hi Kay, So far the Zanaflex hasn't done much for me. If I'm having a muscle spasm it will ease it a little..but it doesn't stop the spasms for me. The most I've seen with it so far has been that horrible drunk feeling, a flare beyond belief about 6 hours after my first dose (I was sobbing hysterically I was in so much pain) and now a wretched headache (almost migraine level and the first one I've had in months) for two days now. I'm trying my best to give it a fair trial...but so far so bad on this one. I'm hoping today will show some " adjustment " and improvement. I know it is a muscle relaxer..it is somewhat related to clonidin and it works at the pre-synaptic level..its pain relief manifests through the relief of muscle spasm and its presumed reduction of spasticity...that's why I was hoping it would help ease my pain because I have a lot of muscle spasms. I too take 4 mg. and was told by the doc that I could take 2 of them at bedtime if needed. Right now I take the Zanaflex 3 times a day and I don't take any at bedtime because I take Restoril 30 mg which has helped me sleep. Blessings, Pixi > > Hi Pixi, > I take zanaflex.
