Guest guest
This problem happens in every kind of group. In one of my speech classes on small group communication, we were placed in groups of people we did not know at all. You could not work with anyone you knew. We had to design and implement a community project from beginning to end and then make a presentation to the class. During the presentations we were the ONLY group out of seven that did not deal with a member that tried to take over the group in the beginning and offended the rest of its members. The ONLY one. What ended up happening was the offensive member dropped the class as we had a policy we could fire a member and they would of failed that part of the class. They also had to talk about how it made them feel and what steps they took as group members when dealing with the offensive member. My group just happened to be a good mix of different personalities who actually like and respected the other members. We did not always agree. This happens every where, in our schools, community, religious events, anytime you get a group of folks together for anything! You don't have to have AS to have poor social and communication skills. Just my 2 cents worth as usual.............
