Guest guest
Thanks I appreciate the help. For what ever reason I have myself on this 2 hr plan, every 2 hrs I either do protein or Vitamins. I didn't realize you could take your protein and Vitamins so close together. I think I'll keep that up but now be able to add more protein than normal. I'm excited now. Love, Theresa ~You grow up the day you have your first real laugh at yourself~ *Ethel Barrymore* Re: Question How soon after/before your Protein drink do you start eating? ************ I drink as I prepare or drive to the meal, so ? 10-15 min? BEFORE How soon after/before your Protein drink do you take vitamins? ********** I take my vites with meals Can one take vitamins and a protein drink in one setting? ************* yep, as long as there is not milk or caffeine. Those mess with iron. Otherwise, yep. Can one take protein drink and then eat w/ in 1/2 hr span? ********** as long as the protein comes first. Guest guest
Hi Sharls It probably has everything to do with it, given the facts that (1)you have a nodule (2)Hashimoto's Thyroiditis runs in your family (3)autoimmune thyroiditis's, period, seems to introduce many other things, including ecxemas. Was the doctor aware of what the psych doc said about the autoimmune thing? If he was, you more than likely had the antibodies tests run, but don't guess----ask. Always take charge of what's going on with you medically, it's your body. Don't just take tests blindly, not knowing what they're about. Talk to your doctor to find out these things. If he/she is a good doctor, they won't mind discussing these things with you. It is very important. Hashimoto's is a thyroid disease, and thyroid difficulties also have something to di with depression, anxiety, bipolar, etc... Question Basically what I am wondering is if eczema and thyroid problems are related to each other….if you a to the point type of person.…if you don’t mind rambling here is my little story J Thanks……Hi, I joined this list a few weeks ago because of my daughter whom is 7, tested for elevated antibodies. That is all on hold until October when she sees a specialist. Anyway, During a check up with me the doctor felt a nodule on my left side that was tender. I have an ultrasound next week. I also had blood drawn today testing my levels. I really don’t know if they ran the same test as they did on my daughter checking the antibody levels. I know her t3 t4 were in normal range. Hashi? Hoshi??? Runs in my family. What I wanted to ask was two weeks ago I started having skin problems on my fingers. My hands are blistered, I was just diagnosed with eczema and am using a topical steroid that is helping some. While visiting a shrink today (LOL he was asking what meds I was on, so I let him know about the steroid), anyway, he said that eczema that comes on like it did with me says I have an autoimmune problem. He told me not to leave the hospital until I had my blood drawn/thyroid tests done that my reg Dr ordered before. So, I finally stayed and after 3 sticks they were able to draw. Do these two things have anything to do with each other? I haven’t been diagnosed with anything except this sudden eczema, oh and given paxil for my ups and downs. Thanks
Guest guest
Hi , thanks for your email. No my doctor didn’t know what they psych had to say when he ordered the blood tests, even at that time the eczema was just starting and we were not really sure if that’s what it was either. He did know about my daughters antibody test though, but he seemed not to know what I was talking about. Still working on the doctor relationship, I don’t have many choices though. We are military, and new in this area and hospital. So its still in the works J I have learned to take control of my children’s healthcare, but I am not so good at my own yet. I think I will make an appt Monday since my hands are still getting new blisters, hopefully the labs will be in, and we can talk thyroid to. My next planned appointment is a week after my ultrasound which isn’t until the 9th. I just wish I knew what has been wrong with me for many years now. Thanks for listening. Thanks, Sharla Re: Question Hi Sharls It probably has everything to do with it, given the facts that (1)you have a nodule (2)Hashimoto's Thyroiditis runs in your family (3)autoimmune thyroiditis's, period, seems to introduce many other things, including ecxemas. Guest guest
Hi Sharla, I just wanted to say that during the time I was so undermedicated for my hashimoto's, I experienced some skin problems that, at the time, were assumed to be due to an allergic reaction to something, and they continued on and off for quite a while. My hands and feet had tiny blisters that were unbearably itchy. My doc never said that it could be thyroid related, but as I am trying to educate myself, I am learning that the untreated thyroid can be responsible for a truckload of problems. Also, you spoke about your ups and downs...this too is very common with those suffering with undermedicated or untreated TD. I was on Prozac for years...until I finally found someone who got my levels into ranges that were best for me. Leanne in Georgia
Guest guest
Sassy, I agree with Dash. You need to see your doc ASAP. I'm sure it was very scary for you at the time...please get it checked out. Good luck, Kay
Guest guest
Run, do not walk, do not pass go, to your doctor. That sounds like it could be something very dangerous like a stroke. Get it checked. Do not want to scare u too much but enuf to go to doc. They are not gods but maybe can find out what is wrong. ((((((hugs)))))) dash Question I have a question........ A couple of nights ago, i was sitting here at my computer and all of a suddon i got a major pain in the top of my head and i couldn't comprahend what was being said, i couldn't understand anything on the screen. My right hand went numb and i couldn't move. I remember everything. But i've never been that scared in my whole life. I've never been to the point to where i couldn't comprehend anything. Guest guest
Yes some forms of migraines called cluster migraines will hit out of the blue and can cause visual disturbances and depending on which area of the brain the constriction is at can numb different areas of the body..How long did it last? Have you had migraines in the past? I'm an old hat at cluster migraines..used to hit me way back when I was 12-13 after I started ovulating. They can be very viscious. Mine would hit on my right side only, Then I get nausous, throw up and pass out...all with in 5-10 min. I'd scare everyone shitless. All I remember is the pain and not wanting to be awake..lol only problem is it would usualy be there when I woke up minutes later.. I'd watch and see if you have any follow up headaches and if you do let your Dr. know at once! Because, and I've posted on this before..there are other causes for the symptoms you stated..the worst being a stroke or small blood clot in a vessel in your brain that can cause those same symptoms. Make sure to note what you were doing-feeling-etc. before they hit. Some migraines are tension-some are allergy- or menstrual- certain foods can trigger migraines such as cheese or chocolate.....Mine was junior mints...To this day I still can't eat them without paying the price. Hopefully you'll never have another one but if you do...let your Dr. know at once. There are some safe meds out there that really help. Just Me... K > > I have a question........ Guest guest
Go to the doctor and have your blood pressure checked and see it it wasn't a stroke or a mini-stroke. Don't want to scare you but my grandmom used to get them. They, for her, were mini-strokes. Margaret, Mom to the monsters and master quilter -- Question I have a question........ Guest guest
I was relunctant to ask this question thinking it might sound really silly but to me it would be helpful since I have fears of medical procedures and still don't know much about my tethered cord, like what can cause me more pain etc...... I'm going for my first colonoscopy on Monday December 28 can any damage be done to my lower spine from getting this done or cause any extra pain, I told the doctor that I have a Lipoma with tethered cord and honestly he never heard of it, I'm going to remind him to be careful with my lower spine and putting me in different positions as it may cause more pain...has anyone had an colonoscopy without any problems afterward like pains in the spine or whatever you experience....I'm going to do my best to keep this appointment I'm 4 years pass due... Guest guest
Trust me (from recent experience): while a colonoscopy is not a pleasurable experience the tethered cord has no relevance for this procedure. Ask for something to calm you (such as valium) since it is a nerve-racking and uncomfortable experience. Good luck! Guest guest
I had one recently and brother you do not want to be anywhere other than the bathroom after you drink that laxitive. If you are like me and have a " touchy " bowel you best get a good book, sit down and dont move as there is very little warning if any! You will definitely be 10 lbs lighter when its all over.
