S. Subject: 3/2 Houston Temple Grandin/ Barron/Beth Aune Autism ConferenceGood morning! I'm just passing along the below information regarding the upcoming Future Horizons Autism/Asperger's Conference in Houston on Friday, March 2 at the Hilton University of Houston, featuring three extraordinary, nationally-renowned speakers, including Dr. Temple Grandin, the noted scientist who has autism and the author of The Way I See It: A Personal Look at Autism and Asperger's; Barron, a professional journalist/reporter who went from being a child with low functioning autism to a college graduate and successful businessman, and the co-author (with Temple Grandin) of Unwritten Rules of Social Relationships; and Beth Aune, a pediatric OTR/L who specializes in dynamic interventions for children with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities and the co-author of Behavior Solutions In and Beyond the Inclusion Classroom. Throughout the conference there will be an extensive resources/book table available, as well as excellent networking opportunities with other local parents/caregivers, SLPs, OTs, PTs, ABAs, counselors, special ed teachers, psychologists, physicians, social workers, etc., within the multiple ASD-related communities. (Outside vendor/exhibitor tables will be available by advance reservation for those interested.) If you would like a free supply of the printed conference brochures to share with your clients, colleagues, family, friends, etc., please let me know.
