Hi slats,

The best advice I can give is ask your doc for samples. If he/she doesn't have any they can get them from the drug reps.

Astra Zeneca's income cut-off for help buying medication appears to be $30,000 for a single person. I looked into it because though I have insurance it's Medicare Part D, and besides Symbicort I take another expensive med to prevent osteoporosis. had a hospital stay and that somehow met my deductble. This time I have been feeling better (knock on wood) Due being on the symbicort.>  > I am just mad and frustrated and sick and tired of this all. I just want to give up. My doctor does give out samples of all kinds of meds, including Symbicort.

Symbicort samples are only a 15-day supply if you take the standard dose, so you

soon need a refill again. ProAir is another popular one that now costs 4 or 5

times more than the old albuterol did, and he has trouble keeping samples of

that on hand as well.

My doctor tries to distribute his freebies as evenly as he can among his

patients who need help the most. Toward the end of every year his Medicare

patients are begging him for samples. Sometimes he's simply out of the

particular drug a patient needs until the rep comes by again. In the case of

Medicare patients, we're all on the lookout for free samples in the last months

of every year, when we may have already spent our entire year's allowed amount

toward meds.
