Tootie:

People all over the world are receiving your messages. Just doesn't

seem to be anyone out here that has anything to say about diabetes.

I am going for my HbA1c test on Aug 1st and to see my CDE on Aug 15.

Then, I will have something to say. My last HbA1c was 4.7 but that was

in November of last year and I haven't had one done since.

It is very hot here in the San Valley. Hope everyone is

keeping cooler. I have to go to work to get cool.

Sunny here (Oregon) today and supposed to be hot too - maybe 80 if we're

lucky (grin). Going to the coast tomorrow (2 hours away) where forecast is

cloudy and 70. I'll be thinking of you-all. Vicki

Vicki, 80 is hot? That's what it was last night when it cooled off here. It

is supposed to be well over 100 here today. I love the Oregon coast. My

husband went to school in Forest Grove and we used to go to the coast on the

weekends. My FIL is in Bandon for the summer. Where do you go on the coast?

Have fun!

I usually like to go to the Sylvia Beach Hotel in Newport -- are you familiar

with it? A book-lovers hotel...built on the edge of a bluff overlooking the

ocean, at the turn of the century, resuscitated and fixed up so all rooms

named after and decorated after authors...there's the Mark Twain room, the

Colette room, the Edgar Poe room, the Dr. Seuss room, etc.....great

family style meals -- you meet the most interesting people there, from all

over the world...no TV, no phones...just a well stocked library. However,

that's not where I'm going this weekend, this time going to Oceanside, a tiny

town south of Tillamook, staying at a B & B on hill overlooking the ocean,

private balcony...great restaurant in town called Roseann's, looking forward

to super dinner and great walks on the cool, misty beach. Vicki

Thanks ...where are you now? Still in Oregon?

It's only for an overnight (wish it were for more but alas...)

Erwin, I'm also eager to hear your HbA1c result, which was run yesterday. I

hope it's more good news.

Susie:

Since my wife has an appointment on Friday at our HMO, I decided to go

for the test then instead of on Aug 1. I will drop her off at her apt.

and then go to the lab. It will give me something to do. I work at the

same HMO from three until seven every evening so could go any day, just

leave for work a few minutes early. I should have the results back by

next week. I think that the HbA1c will be around the same as last

time. My 14 day average is 86 this evening. I test in the morning when

I get up and 2 hours after STARTING supper.

Have a wonderful day.
