Guest guest Posted May 21, 2011 Report Share Posted May 21, 2011 Durbin is a great musician and performer, and I beleive he did not make it all the way to the top because he mainly showcased his metal/rock type of music which he frequently said he was trying to promote. there were a few times when showed how multitalented he was with his voice, and his ability to even sing country right along with y (and Jame's voice was beautiful in this song duo), but he didn't do it enough and thus lost the votes of the mainstream voters who are not metal/rock fans, It is the same thing that happened to Casey, and really what was happening to Haley until she started throwing in some music that was more popular and familiar to people. Really, , Haley and y are all incredibly talented, and in my opinion, all three are winners and are going to be famous. winning on Idol is not a ticket to success, and quite a few of the now famous artists did not win on Idol. Idol gives an artist the chance to showcase his/her talents to the american public, and more importantly the talent searchers and producers that watch this show looking for hidden talent. My opinion is we should not bash someone elses talent because our favorite did not win. , Haley and y are incredibly different in the type of music they sing, and cannot really be compared anyway. So much depends on the interests of the television viewers and the musical genre they prefer as to who wins this show. is going to be successful despite his disability because he is very talented, and I think that is really all that is important - not that he has Aspergers and Tourettes, but because he is incredibly talented. Nobody discriminated against him because of his Aspergers, and from the TV show that was not apparent anyway. All that was really apparent were his tics, and I don't think anybody but the autism community even knew he had Aspergers until the most recent showcase of their visits to their hometown.
