The presenter Dr. Sherman describes how psychophysiology provides unique

assessment and interventional approaches to pain. Behavioral techniques such as

biofeedback are used to train patients to correct patterns and responses causing

pain so pain is neither generated nor maintained. Applied psychophysiology is a

relatively new branch that uses knowledge about mind-body interactions to

develop and apply techniques for increasing awareness of these relationships.
