Guest guest
Hi Everyone, The recent nasty weather in Indiana, where I live, has affected my nerves significantly. I been having since Thursday last week difficulties with my right side. I have had greater amounts of burning, tingling, and numbness all along that one side. Yesterday I took an extra nortriptyline pill and it has helped a little. The numbness I was having on the right side of my face has gone down and I feel it now a little under my right eye and along my jawline. My right arm has been having shooting pains from the elbow up into the shoulder. I have had difficulty with stormy weather before but not like this. This is new to me and I am hoping the extra pill I take will have more of an effect. If I am no better by tomorrow I will let my doctor know what is happening. Sincerely, Christy
Guest guest
Christy, I can really relate to you in regards to weather changes. I was born and raised in Colorado. Because of a severe motorcycle accident back in the 70's I had started noticing many of the effects weather changes could do to me. In 1985 I moved to Texas because of continual and sometimes brutal storms in Colorado. I have told my friends that I can probably now predict a storm coming in within 2 days of it hitting. Not only do I get the pains and numbness prior to the storm, but depending on the severity of the storm on the way there are times that my eyesight is affected and I seem to be in a heavy fog. That is when it becomes very frightening for me. My balance is also affected and so on those days I try to sit or lay down and not walk very much so I don't hurt myself accidently. I am glad that you have pain meds. for those days. Guest guest
Hey Christy, I have been experiencing severe nerve pain(numbness/tingling/burning etc) in the left side of my back/shoulder/arm area ever since Friday when it started storming here. I usually have it, but not as severe as when these storms are coming or are here. This hasn't happened to me in such an extreme way either. My back swelled, became discolored and my shoulder turned bright red. Very bizarre. It started raining Friday and has not stopped and is suppose to rain all week here in Arkansas! UHG!! I went to the Dr. today and he said the best he can do is send me to the Neurologist again. Its so frustrating, no one knowing why or where this nerve pain is coming from. My Doc says he is " stumped " . Someone out there has got to know how to help me. My arm is getting really weak and I'm starting to have shoulder tremors almost every night. Does anyone else out there experience this? I asked about nerve pain meds to the Doc and he said wait to see what the Neurologist says. Meanwhile I'm suffering bigtime. Sorry to hear you are going through the same sort of thing. Glad you have SOME kind of meds that will help you with this sort of pain though. Do you take anything besides the nortriptyline? Guest guest
Hey there Dawn, I'm in North Carolina, going up into the mountains. The humidity kicks my butt too. I'm told it's not as bad up here, and I'm hoping their right. This is our first spring and summer here. I'm hoping for the best. Thank goodness this house has air conditioning. Hope we can afford to turn it on! Kathleen in N.C.
Guest guest
I think its a humidity issue but Im not overly sure...although the fast moving T-storms in Fl never really caused me much issues. My asthma DID flare during the peak oak pollen seasons down there though...despite what the allergy tests say. Oak pollen season in Florida is Feb/March and Sept/Oct and those are exactly when I had my problems down there. I dont know anymore...
