"GOOD BRISK SIT"

Peggy,

Was that a "GOOD BRISK SIT" or a "GOOD BRISKIT"?. Yummmmm! ( Now I know I had some leftover potato salad somewhere in this 'fridge.)

Sher, As president of the " CHUBBIES " I know just what you mean about hard to loose weight. There are so many of us in the same boat. I am trying to walk. I walk my porch 3 or 4 times a day it's 65 or 75 feet long. I don't know, BUT I do know that's plenty long to walk each way 3 or 4 times. I think the trick is to add even just a few steps each day will help. My Chubby self would much rather have a " GOOD BRISK SIT " that has always been my favorite exercise.. God Bless Peggy

Peggy, we seem to have a lot in common. I will walk more now. I walked to the corner of our neighborhood yesterday and will do the same today. I was a bit breathless but I will do this!

I don't think I gave up, I just gave out. Fighting chronic conditions and constant pain simple has taken it's toll on me. Mentally, physically and emotionally. Spiritually I think I have gained strength and learned more about acceptance. I'm simple pooped out and burned out. Now I must face an even greater condition because my life literally depends on it! I sometimes wonder if God uses this to shout at me, "Hey Sher, get off your butt!" LOL. sHER PF 5-06

I know pooped out.. I don't have the strength of a new kitten. Everything we do will leave us breathless for a few min. but our muscles need to keep going. From the time I knew what this monster was doing to my body. I began to fervently pray and I'm telling you I have peace with this disease. My God has his plan and there is a reason for everything. He may well be telling you get it moving.. God Bless you Sher, Peggy

Hi Guys; Just thought I tell you how much weight husband lost. He went from 400+ down to 246. This took 1 1/2 yrs. I don't think any of you need to lose this kind of but weight but obvously he did. I still will take any extra just laying around. Have a wonderful day. IPF 7/05Sher K Bauman wrote: I've read so many emails this morning I cannot remember who posted info. about this. Peggy...Ta Da!

I just walked nearly 1/2 mile. Slowly, but I did it. Breathless, but I didn't pass out! LOL

It is so reassuring to share with those who express trust and faith in God. We no doubt are different religions but reading all of you helps me stay focused as well. Yes, I too am making peace with PF. I consider myself going on a journey and I have to prepare. How? By coming to terms with God, not the disease. Today, God patted me on the head and said, "Well done..."

God Bless you too Peggy! Sher PF 5-06

plane crash that killed the eitire football team and staff?) in the

motor pool checking about a dozen university cars/golf carts 3 days @

week, 4 hrs @ day. Not really taxing but, I DO walk alot outside,

getting a MITE breathless at times, but it IS extra $$$ and, I have

no one looking over my shoulder. It helps exercise a bit ... got a

Total Gym (which I am steeling myself up to use) as well.

Way to go Peggy, Fred and Sher......I'm so proud of you. It's a gradual thing. When I first started walking, I thought I was gonna DIE. I was so winded and everything hurt and I didn't think I could keep going. But, I just took my time and listened to my body and myself. If I was pooped, I slowed down. If my saturation was dropping, I put up my oxygen a little more. We have to take care of ourselves - we know ourselves best, we're with ourselves 24/7!!!!! I love you guys!! Hey! Good for us. I do feel better today. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and my husband walked with me. We stopped for a bite to eat!

We live in a small town about 40 mi. south of Portland OR. A real little "Americana". Tree lined streets, park in the middle of town, with a gazebo yet!

I like what I read in the Foundation brochure...be positive or be negative, pick one.

Like Yogi said, "When you come to a fork in the road, take one."

I may have this stinky thing but I am trusting God it doesn't mean I have to "suffer" down the road. Love and blessings to all. Sher pf 5-06

Hey Fred,

I am a West Virginian by birth! I am very familiar with Huntington. It was the BIG CITY to me as I was growing up. I have a sister in W.V. As a kid, my mother and I would take a Trailways bus from the mountains to Huntington to see a doctor or shop. Such a treat!

It is a beautiful state. Almost Heaven.

WOW I'm impressed. Go Girl GO...Are you on O2 ?? Sorry I didn't catch your story. Only the fact that you were just diagnosed recently. I have been at this for 1 1/2 years and it still surprises me sometimes when I realize how bad this is. It is so wonderful to have this group, they have become like family to me. Keep up the good fight. You are not alone.

I attend The Church of God--I don't get to go as much as I would like. God Bless Peggy 9/06

Rita...I checked w/ Naturopathic Physician yesterday and she said CP is one ingredient in others and is quite safe to take. However I will check out the web site you shared w/ us re: CP .

I've been taking NAC. Do any of you find it "dries" you out? Nose...dry eyes seem drier.

Dr. says he doesn't think it's NAC. I stopped it for a couple days and now have resumed to "test" it out. Sher pf 5-06

I have two daughters and one son, 8 grands.. Oldest grandson graduates the 23 of this month. Shoot it was only last week I was throwing him on the bed and jumping.. Time has flown. Wonderful memories. Foe 7 years I had 6 of them after school (peanut butter & jelly central) every day. I had such a major empty nest syndrome but I was sick so the rest did me good. They all lived within a mile back then. Now there 135 miles away.

week-ends are fun. I'm blabbering.. God Bless Peggy

Hey Peggy...Blabber all you want. The more I read your posts I wish it were possible to meet you in person. We do have a lot in common. I think "leaving" my grandchildren is the hardest thought for me. It isn't time yet, but knowing I have to let go of them is so painful. I haven't had the time with them I want. I "want" years and years and years!

I like what you wrote: Have a God blessed day. I'll send it right back to ya! Sher

Sher, I read that dry eyes were one of the symptoms of Sarcoid. I am not sure if it is also a symptom of the other PFs. I am the second teacher to get sarcoid at my school and both of us listed dry eyes as our first symptom. My doctor told me to take Omega 3 Flax oil pi;;s and they have helped a ton! Plus they are good for your heart. God Bless You-Sher K Bauman wrote: Rita...I checked w/ Naturopathic Physician yesterday and she said CP is one ingredient in others and is quite safe to take. Peggy and Sher.....and all grandparents...

I just didn't really know about this kind of love. When that first grandchild came into this world, I felt like I did when I was in love for the very first time...only better. I have 7 and they are everything to me. I too shudder at the thought of separation. I don't dread death, just the separation. One day when my last 3 babies were just weeks old, I held thier little naked bodies in my arms...all three of them....and I thought....can Heaven be better than this. YES IT CAN AND YES IT IS! Hard for us grandmas to imagine.

I try to remember every day that God is letting me live so that I might serve others, including these sweet children. I try teaching them something of God's will each time I see them. I don't have much to leave them, but I pray they will remember some of the things that I tell them. I am amazed how these children will hang on every word....kids don't generally do that with parents. God uses grandparents in a very special way.

Love and prayers,

Joyce

Joyce I had such a flood of memories after reading this post. When my oldest Granddaughter was born. My son cut the cord and the Dr laid her in my arms... OH Yea I cried like a baby. She is 16 now, working, has a little pick up truck..can't believe that.. I have twin G-Daughters too. I could never hold just one, A red head and a blond. so precious.

my oldest daughter adopted two sisters 3 years ago. Oh the first time I laid eyes on them ( just at a first family meeting) I fell in LOVE. You would never know their not 's natural children. Their 14 and 16 now. Beautiful. All the kids get along right from the get go..

Anyhow If I had known how sweet, wonderful and perfect grandkids were gonna be I would have had them first.

(maybe not, mine are pretty great) I would post a picture but I don't know if we can do that... God Bless you Peggy
