Guest guest
My son has been a patient of Dr Frye's and since his move to Arkansas Childrens Hospital last fall we have not been able to get an appointment with him. The appointment line has us on the list, but keeps telling me when I call that his schedule is not set to take appointments at this time. Has anyone else had this same struggle to set an appointment with Dr Frye? We are happy with Dr Frye, but we need follow-up visits. We've been on the medications Dr Frye prescribed and are seeing results, but have not been to see Dr Frye since last September before his departure. Can anyone recommend another good pediatric neurologist in the Houston area that would be open to Dr Frye's methods and is Biomed friendly? Guest guest
We are in the same exact predicament. I emailed Dr. Frye and he said that he would let them know we need to be seen soon but haven't heard anything yet either. We have looked everywhere for a neurologist with a similar approach. We see Dr. Mancias and he is fantastic but his specialty isn't autism or biomed at all. I hope to hear some feedback too! Best of luck! Guest guest
I wonder if he doesn't yet have a license to practice in Arkansas...? Every state has its own licensing process. I know a world-renowned epileptologist, and it took him over a year to get a license in Texas! You mention Dr. Frye's methods - do you mean his focus on mitochondrial disorders? There really aren't too many experts in mitochondrial disorder. Guest guest
Dear , Same boat here, but fortunately my son is releatively stable right now so we are waiting. I did call this week and was told they are in the process of setting his schedule and assigning appointment times. Once those are finalized, they will be calling and verifying the appt time works for you. They promised soon. I have only had one other doctor do as much for my son as Dr. Frye and that doctor ( Dr. Jepson) no longer sees autistic patients ....We will be staying with Dr. Frye. > > My son has been a patient of Dr Frye's and since his move to Arkansas Childrens Hospital last fall we have not been able to get an appointment with him. Guest guest
Dr. Frye's specific area of expertise is Mito and Autism. He actually listens to parent's and thinks outside the box for solutions. I have not met many doctors that do both. > > I wonder if he doesn't yet have a license to practice in Arkansas...? Every state has its own licensing process. Guest guest
Hi everyone, was having trouble posting a general question so hope this reply is seen by everyone. I am looking for a general pediatrician in the woodlands who is comfortable with autistic kids. Any suggestions? Kids are 9 and 8. Thank you Sent from my iPhone
Guest guest
I'm not sure on those specifics but we use Dr Zeller at Texas Children's and he is AWESOME! He listens to everything we have to say and yes he does think outside the box! I just am not sure about the specific ones you are talking about! He is also the head of the Bluebird clinic (Texas Children's neurology center) so he knows a lot of people so if not maybe he can point you in the direction you need and/or get you to the resources! I hope that helps. SandySent from my iPad Agreed.Sent from my iPhone Dr. Frye's specific area of expertise is Mito and Autism.
