Hi All

The Integrated Arts Psychotherapy Supervision/Training Group will continue next semester. We will meet Thursdays, beginning mid-January for approx 10 sessions. I have only a few spaces open so please let me know soon if you want to join this group.

Respond to me directly: franjlevy @yahoo.com or call at

The workshop will focus on group and individual work with patients ages 13 and up.

Special concentration will be on the integration of verbal and nonverbal (dance, movement, art, drama and music) expression in long term clinical treatment. We will also address psychodynamic psychotherapy, diagnosis, and the skills and clinical knowledge necessary for maintaining a private practice, as well as issues mutually agreed upon within the group. While some of our work will be geared toward private practice, you do not have to be in private practice to benefit from the workshop.Day and Time: Thursday evenings 6:15 to 7:45

Fee: $45.00 per session

Place: Parkslope, Brooklyn

REMEMBER: If you are interested, please call me at or email me at franjlevyyahoo (DOT) com.My goal is to provide a supportive environment in which participants can feel free to openly share their thoughts, feelings and questions while the group is learning and growing together. There will be an informal interview prior to joining the group in order to insure that the group will meet individual needs. I look forward to hearing from you.Fran J. Levy, Ed.D., L.C.S.W., BCDMTPrivate Practitioner

Dear Chriss, To answer your question......... My Doctorate is in Arts Education with a specialization in the integrated use of the arts in psychotherapy, often referred to as Multimodal Treatment. To get a better understanding of my work and what I teach, you can read chapter 17 in my book, Dance Movement Therapy: A healing art, 2005. The title is "Multimodal Psychotherapy". Or the chapter on "Nameless: A case of multiplicity" in my other book, Dance and Other Expressive Art Therapies: When words are not enough (1995). These chapters illustrate the combined use of the arts in treatment as I use them and teach them. Of the 2 chapters, chapter 17 is the most indepth example of the

work. Basic theory and methods of multimodal treatment are illustrated with a good deal of case material. I think this would be the best chapter to start with. Please feel free to contact me if you have further concerns. This is just the short answer to your question. Sincerely,Fran Levy
