Hi everyone,I am putting together a proposal to create a temporary community art making space in Manhattan.  It would be a kind of artist-in-residency program in a public space, where we as artists would work in the studio and encourage people who drop in to engage in art making.  I am looking for someone who is interested in creating this type of environment with me and who would be able to reliably dedicate 12 hours each week (for 6-8 months, depending on the award) to working in the studio.

This is not an art therapy project, it is an artist in residency opportunity where as part of our residency we will encourage other people to make art in the space with us.I am looking for a partner in this project, someone who is interested in collaborating and helping with the legwork.

I plan to interview potential partners in early February before we begin working on the application together, creating a shared vision of the project playing to our individual strengths. Background on the proposal:  There is no stipend or monetary award, however a small budget will be given for supplies, so although we would not be getting paid I don't anticipate any personal expenses (unless your artwork requires special materials).  The space is public and open for pre-established hours, whether we are there or not, and is supervised by gallery staff.  Applications are due in March.

If interested, please email me privately, robintzipi@...Thanks!Robin Sheldon, MAAT, ATR
