I've had so many people email me directly about Dr. Luedemann's new pediatric dental practice that is opening in Katy, Tx. that I'm just going to post her update to the whole group!For those who asked, yes this is doc that I trust to help me with my boys - esp. my younger, more severe son who requires sedation.Dr. Luedemann has also taken training specifically on dealing with patients who have autism which is amazing to me- as dentists this is something new to me and I am interested in learning more about the program she found. Now Scheduling Patients for Kidstown Dental!

Today I have very exciting news! Everything has really been coming together, and we are now ready to start scheduling appointments. Our first week open will be July 16th!

First, check out our website, www.kidstowndentist.com , which is now live. The phone number listed is our emergency backline number for now, . You can reach us on that number to start scheduling appointments. The landline number will be live soon and will be on website when it becomes live. We still have some tweaking on the website to do, but we have worked hard to make it user friendly and very informative. (For now you can ignore the insurance page, because my web designer added it last minute and I haven't had time to read it to see if it reflects our office views.) Be sure to look at the "Toothy Topics" section where you can read more about: "shot-free" laser dentistry for children, "no-gag" x-rays, "The Hands on Learning Lab", 'x-ray free" cavity detection features of the "Sopro Life" light, and the "D-termined" program for helping Autistic and special needs children in the dental office. Most of these topics come with videos on our website. These are exciting and unique aspects of "KIdstown Dental" and we can't wait to welcome Katy families into these approaches to Pediatric Dentistry.

Things to look forward to on this blog:

Weekly topical discussions on pediatric dental and health topics parents want to understand and discuss, such as: fluoride safety and alternatives when appropriate, radiation safety and appropriate levels for children, laser dentistry versus the "old-fashioned drill and fill", silver versus white fillings in children, stainless steel crowns, white crown options in the pediatric population, bleaching safety in young populations, fluorosis and other enamel defects (causes and treatment), "baby bottle" and "nursing" relationship to dental decay in infants, increases in dental decay in children in the US (why), oral/systemic relationship (ie how your mouth and body are connected, specifically in disease versus healthy states), and many more exciting topics.
