Guest guest
The Institute for Expressive Analysis invites you to attend a Scientific Meeting and Book Signing to celebrate the publication of Contact with the Depths by Eigen. will present a chapter titled: Spirituality and Addiction: Wounded Aloneness This presentation will focus on connections between wounded aloneness and addiction. Winnicott writes of early aloneness that needs support, although the infant may be unaware of this support. Eigen describes this as aloneness supported by the unknown, boundless other. Damaged support leads to wounded aloneness. Addiction tries to heal the wound or call attention to this wound. Wounded aloneness will be traced through cases involving alcohol, drugs or medication. Through forms of interaction therapy creates qualities of aloneness and connection deepens and evolves. Faith, or its lack, plays an important role in the patient and therapist managing to get through session and letting something more happen.
