About the presenter: Torrie’s experience in theatre education led her to a career supporting the inclusion of children with disabilities. It is also Torrie’s experience in theatre that makes her a powerful public speaker and dynamic teacher. Torrie holds a degree in theatre from San Diego State University and has won national awards for her arts education programs. She has 23 years of experience working in out-of-school time programs teaching children of all ages and creating curriculum for use by child and youth development professionals and classroom teachers. Torrie has presented keynotes and workshops for conferences and events all over the United States. Currently, she is the Co-Chair of the California Afterschool Network Leadership Team, is an advisor to the Youth Inclusion Voices, is a member of the Advisory Council for the Afterschool Inclusion Project for the California Department on Education and serves on a Technical Working Group on online professional development for the US Department of Education. Torrie was a contributing author for a college textbook titled Inclusive Recreation, published in 2010 by Human Kinetics Publishing. Torrie is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance.
