Just left er. It seems as if I still have pneumonia for two months! What is

happening to me -the hives-my glands swelling. I feel horrible!!

And now scared because doctors are thinking LUPUS! Give me a break!

Also they are thinking they may want to do a lung biopsy!

Needless to say I've been crying my eyes out.

Wow...but, you know, if they CAN tie all this into something and get it under control, it wont seem so bad Kay. My mom has lupus and once they got it all under control, shes been doing well in that area of her health.

Good luck

What should I say to my job? Really don't know what they are thinking. Should I tell them what the doctors are thinking? That it maybe lupus or church Strauss syndrome (not sure if I spelled that right) :( Got a call from my doctor last night who is running more test but this is something he is thinking about now.Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerryFrom: hottrinbago72_99@...Date: Fri, 18 Jun 2010 01:13:14 +0000To: <asthma >Subject: Re: just left ER Thank u so much because I'm feeling really beat up and low right now :(Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerryFrom: Canter <cindyj503>Date: Thu, 17 Jun 2010 18:09:50 -0700 (PDT)To: <asthma >Subject: Re: just left ER Oh man! I hate that you are going through this but look at the positive they

actually found something and aren’t treating you as if you are crazy. Hopefully you will not have Lupus

however if diagnosed soon enough it is controllable. Hang in there.

Have your doctor to complete FMLA papers.  He will be the one to tell your employer what he has diagnosed at

this time. You will find out when that sometimes the doctor doesn’t tell you

enough but will fill out the paperwork and you will have a lot more information

about your condition. Keep in mind that FMLA papers must be completed yearly

even if it is a lifelong condition.    I

have an autoimmune disorder called Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, which

makes me clot.  My FMLA papers are

completed for hypercoaguable.  This

covers all of the blood test, doctor appointments and any complications from

the disorder. I can thank APS for the clot in my lung and the onset of asthma

as well as the continual testing for Lupus since APS and Lupus are usually

diagnosed together.

I know it is very stressful being sick and trying to keep your job.  I was out of work for 10 weeks in the first

12 weeks of this year because of the APS and asthma.  I had to take an emergency medical leave of absence since I was

out of FMLA.  Completing the request for

leave was the most difficult thing I have ever done.

Hang in there!

Melinda

Right now I dont think I would say anything to my job unless you have a boss who is extremely understanding about things. Otherwise, I think I would wait until you find out something more definite before you say anything. Just tell them youre having some medical issues right now and that you are working with your doctor to discover the source of the problem...thats all they need to know.

You can also download the papers for FMLA from the internet, have your

doctor complete them then present them to your employer if and when

needed.  If your job is secure and your

leave isn’t counted against you then don’t worry about the forms.  The thing with FMLA is it protects the

employee.  There are conditions that

have to be met in order to apply for FMLA.

Best of luck to you.

Has anyone considered an allergy or intolerance? Sulfites can cause both hives

and wheezing. The swollen glands is obviously an immune system symptom. Could be

caused by something entirely different or be related.
