Guest guest
Hi all, my drs. (all of them) want me to begin talking to someone about a lung transplant even though I am not even on 02 yet. They say it is not too early to begin the process. I have to chose between Brigham and Womans or Mass General (both in Boston. Can anyone offer me some insight as to how to research their programs? Is there some sort of data base or website that reports on these things? Any info wouldbe appreciated. Tom ipf 01/
Guest guest
Hi Tom, Just pull hospital name /pulmonary, this should get you to their web site on pulmonary then you can check from there. They also give you a phone number to call. May God Bless You ipf/05topamo wrote: Hi all, my drs. Great rates starting at 1¢/min.
Guest guest
, thanks for the reply. Sorry to take so long. Mass general lists their survivability #'s on the web site but B & W does not. My wife found a site that rates lung transplant hospitals but she needs to call and get it again since she lost it. Thanks again for the help. Tom ipf 01-06 > Hi all, my drs. Guest guest
Tom, While looking things up, I also found New England Med Center. They seem to have a good tx dept. Is there any possibility this might be an option? Also Mt Sinia {sic) in NY. Keep looking you never know when something will pop up. Good luck and god Bless ipf 7/05topamo wrote: , thanks for the reply. Sorry to take so long. Mass general lists their survivability #'s on the web site but B & W does not. Guest guest
Tom I think I would try to call the National Transplant Org. They can I would think tell you all the info you are looking for. I think your Dr.'s should be able to supply any and all information your looking for. My Insurance Co. actually called and gave me the name of a contact person there to talk to about transplants or anything concerning this disease. I was shocked. Haven't called yet. I'm hiding and watching to see what happens next.. BUT in the mean time I am just keepin on keepin on. It's a beautiful 70 on the porch today so I'm headed back out to shoot a squirrel that's trying to eat my flowers. At least put a good scare in him.. I'm praying you find all the answers you need. Guest guest
Peggy, Our insurance company has assigned a 'caseworker' to my case...oh about 18 months ago when I started getting worse. She called me first and when I have questions, I call her. If she hasn't heard from me in awhile, she calls me. I have gotten to know her and I like her very much. She has been a real help to me. Call and get a relationship going, then you will be a real person to her/him. This is much better than talking to recordings. This company unfortunatly is not our 'prescription management insurance'. They are horrible. Hugs, Joyce > > Hi all, my drs. (all of them) want me to begin talking to someone> > about a lung transplant even though I am not even on 02 yet.
