A great advocacy strategy.... to make phone calls while advocates make visits in DC.

This topic: 35% reduction in funding, plus block grants. If the feds push block grants through, then funding currently given to Texas for state Medicaid waivers (HCS, CLASS, etc.) can be sidetracked for many things, as Texas receives it and decides to use it. Both seriously jeopardizes those on Medicaid waivers programs and those waiting for a slot.

Phone numbers are below, my daughter just got through at the first number, first try; they thanked her and did not ask name/state/anything. Litzinger

ACTION ALERT: ADAPT takes its message directly to Rep. !

PLEASE CALL NOW: Call and say “Don’t block grant Medicaid!”

ACTION ALERT: ADAPT takes its message directly to Rep. !

Calls Needed NOW!

Following 91 arrests yesterday in the Cannon Congressional Building, ADAPTers have returned to Congress today, going straight to Representative ’s office. Rep. is the principle author behind the House’s budget plan, a plan that would cut Medicaid programs by 35%, which translates to a loss of $772 billion in human services. Additionally, the Plan proposes a system of Medicaid block grants for states—giving states greater ability to make cuts.

Please call Representative ’s office NOW, while ADAPT is there and tell him:

“Don’t block grant Medicaid!”

Representative ’s office number is .

If you can’t get through that line, try .
