Hello,

My name is Peggy and I am new to this group and FMS. I was diagnosed

with FMS in May. For two years I have had pain in my hip. I have

had 2 Mri's and x-rays. Doc's could not find anything. My knees

were hurting on and off for about a year. The last ortho I saw sent

me to a rhuemey. He diagnosed me after a a rhuematoid panel, lupas

work up and a total body scan.

I started Naprosyn for arthritis in knees, shoulders and hips. I

took that for 3 weeks and then started taking Elavil 10 mg at

bedtime. Six days after that I broke out in a terrible rash. I then

quit the Elavil. I wasn't having any pain so I quit the Naprosyn.

The next month the doc started me on flexaril at bedtime. I am

still taking that. I still have the rash that started in the

beginning of June. It isn't as bad but it is still there. I am now

wondering if it was the Elavil. Since then I have taken the

Naprosyn on two occasions and wound up with nausea and vomitting

about 4 hours after taking it.

Does anyone have these weird reaction to meds? I still have the hip

pain. I am just wondering if maybe it was the Naprosyn that caused

the rash. I don't know if I need a rhuematologist, dermatologist,

allergist or a pychiartrist. LOL This disease is weird.

Sorry this is so long and thanks for reading my saga.

Peggy

Hello Peggy,

You never said what the rheumatoid tests etc. showed? Were your

tests for lupus and etal. negative? Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis

can cause rashes. But my daughter who had juvinile rheumatoid

arthrits from 8 months to age 14 still has rashes the Dr. feels is

from the fibro and/or nerves. Where is the rash? And you hit the

bulls eye when you said that this disease was weird. We are sane.

LOL Welcome and I hope that rash clears up soon.!!

Hi Peggy,

I too am new to this group and new to fibro, got diagnosed in

January. The reactions I get from meds are: vomitting, nausea,

rashes, migraines, abdominal pain, diaherria, bloating, hopes this

helps. Its a very frustrating disease. Hope you get some relief soon.

Take care,

Dawn
