Many time brain fog is caused by lack of restorative sleep, often with some

underlying issue like RLS, Fibromyalgia, or other sleep-depriving condition. It

can also be the result of sedating medications as well, or a combination of meds

that give you that side-effect taken together. Overwhelming fatigue affects

driving as if the person was drunk. No wonder it makes thinking and functioning

at other activities a lot more difficult.

Once I was able to improve my ability to get restorative sleep by treating the

pain of Fibromyalgia and the creepy-crawlies of RLS, my ability to retrieve

words and speak in complete sentences improved significantly. I never had

trouble with work since I do the same type of thing day in and day out, but

doing something outside the routine became very difficult. Luckily my

rheumatologist was savvy on the problem, and convinced me that treating the two

biggest sleep robbing conditions was in my best interest, I've felt so much

better.
