Having a morning headache due to Co2 buildup is new information for me. I've been having those headaches for the past month or so. Hmmm. Today I was volunteering at the hospital here and began feeling very short of breath, which I thought might be due to an asthmatic reaction to the roof being tarred. The oxymeter reading was initially 86, and then rose to 95 after I sat for a bit. So I'm now wondering if this is what is happening when I try to walk and talk at the same time -- that lower oxymeter reading. I don't even know if 86 is a low number -- is it?

Yes, Rita, 86 is a low number. Where is your oxygen? Barb in KYRita Eisenstat wrote: Having a morning headache due to Co2 buildup is new information for me. Hi Rita, When I saw my Dr. a few weeks ago he told me anyone with lung disease on oxygen should sleep with it because our chest musles do not contract when we sleep, thus lowering our O2 numbers. This could well be the reason for your AM headaches. Yes 86 is a low, you should not get below 90. Are you on O2 yet? I too have to use O2 when I get up or sleep. I have to use 3 or 4 L when I walk. Can't talk and walk DUH-- you know that's bad... LOL God Bless. Peggy

Let me add my two cents. I thought when you woke up in the morning and had a head ache it was because you were getting too much oxygen. But I guess you can't get too much oxygen if you are on oxygen. Also, normal people have oxygen levels of 98-100. So, yes, 86 is a low number. Hey, everybody: I feel as though I am going nuts tonight. Do any of you ever feel like that. I am so dis-satisfied with my medical treatment that I just don't know what to do anymore. I got on the internet and found a pulmonologist in Lexington and called and made an appointment before I gave it a lot of thought. Now, I am wondering why I found that particular dr. on the internet when I was actually looking for someone connected with the University of Kentucky Hospital. I guess I got side tracked. HELP, is there anyone in this group that knows how to locate a Pulmonologist that is associated with the University of Kentucky Hospital. I want to get a good second opinion. I think it is about time I had one. I think these "Yellow Pages" sites must have Dr's that buy into them, because I couldn't find one yellow page site that listed all the pulmonologists to choose from and I know

Lexington must have it's fair share, because they do organ transplants there. So, If someone can dig the information up for me, It would be greatly appreciated. I feel so defeated tonight. Guess I will close this for now. Barb in KY Rita Eisenstat wrote: Having a morning headache due to Co2 buildup is new information for me. I've been having those headaches for the past month or so. Barb, Look up UK hspt. Look under dr registery. They should list departments and specalities. Also do you have physician referral. They can get locations and drs.Do you really think treatment that bad or are having One Of Those Days? Try all hospitals. Call their purmonologist dept, Most will help. If You need to Talk e-mail me #, I'll call you (phone bill National Debt anyway). P.S. Home everyday til 1pm, work 2-10pm.Barbara Soice wrote: Hey, everybody: I feel as though I am going nuts tonight. Do any of you ever feel like that. Hey, Peggy: I did that this morning and I still got connected to the same Dr. I was connected to yesterday. What are the chances of that happening? Must be a God thing going on. Or maybe he is the only pulmonologist there that will take my insurance. You take care. Barb in KYPeggy wrote: Hi Barb, Call the U of K hospital and ask for the pulmonary Dept. and go from there. Hey, Peggy: I checked the Dr. out that I am suppose to see and it says he is a Professor of Medicine. His special intrests are Lung Pathophysiology, Lung Physiology, Lung Sounds, and Respiratory Acoustics. He is Certified in Plumonary Medicine. I hope that all adds to to a really good Dr. The site had a picture of him and he looks like he is 50+, so I am hoping this will also be an added benefit. Hey, everybody:

I feel as though I am going nuts tonight. I think these " Yellow Pages " sites must have Dr's that buy into them, because I couldn't find one yellow page site that listed all the pulmonologists to choose from and I know Lexington must have it's fair share, because they do organ transplants there. So, If someone can dig the information up for me, It would be greatly appreciated. I feel so defeated tonight. Guess I will close this for now.
