Guest guest
Well, you could look at it this way: you have plenty of time to run over possible senerios and how might handle them. But that's just me, I always try to be overly prepared! But, I think you are already very prepared. You've done your research, you've spoke with your doctor, you have a list of your problems, and you are able to explain why you think it's possible you have RSD. There's nothing else I can think of right now that you can do. Other than keeping a journal from now until then and running through how you might handle it if the university hospital tells you they don't think you have RSD also. I hope you get some answers to your pain next month. I wish you the best and hope to hear how it goes. H. Christy Santo wrote: I also discussed with my doctor the research I did into RSD and how there is too much that matches for this to not be looked into again. My doctor agreed RSD is likely but said a specialist would have to do that diagnosis, he couldn't because he doesn't know RSD adequately enough to treat it. Guest guest
Hang in there Christy! You are taking the necessary steps to find out what the problems is and that is the most important thing. Good luck. Caitlin Christy Santo wrote: Next month I am going to a university hospital where I can see a nuerologist and anyone else that is necessary. Guest guest
Hi nne, If I may be so bold to ask...what type of cyst was it and where? I'm considering getting cysts removed from inside my shoulders. Hope you LOVE your new city. Caitlin nne wrote: Yesterday (Monday) I had a surgery to get a cyst removed. I'm still in a lot of pain from the surgery, but my surgeon was amazing and has made sure I have adequate pain control even though I'm on all the other pain meds. Dearest , You certainly have your plate full to say the least. May I suggest that you begin with the number 1 situation that is the priority and post it out for the group so we may all have a direction to begin with? After reading your post, I can assure you that suicide is not the priority, you have already reached out for professional help and have considered your daughters welfare as well as yours (Great Job). Guest guest
, I am so sorry you haven't been able to get well. I know that feeling myself. Although i have been much better in Denver. I haven't been able to shake this sometimes body racking cough, so the doctor I saw today, (yes I had to make another trip and miss a day of classes because I felt hideous this morning), put me on a strong expectorant/ bronchodilator med and changed the antibiotic I was taking. Guest guest
I was wondering if this week could get worse and it did. I'm fine, still coughing a bit but feeling some better. Our weather hear in Northeast Tennessee has been crazy. It was really windy yesterday and the wind blew a bunch of stuff off my mom's back deck. She was standing at the back door watching my brother pick stuff up out of the yard and a wind gust jerked the door. She lost her balance and fell. We thought she'd damaged her knee replacement, but the x-rays showed it to be fine. She did break the femur, which is the thighbone for those not familiar with bone names, above that knee. She had surgery last night for them to insert a rod and screws to fix the break. I called a bit ago to check on her and she's fine this morning, although in pain.I'm glad you're doing a bit better. Guest guest
Ouch is right!! She's doing decent today. We visited for a while and she was still pretty groggy although we did get her awake enough to eat a little bit. It's going to take her a while to heal. I'm trying hard to take care of me. It's going to be cold here tonight so I guess we'll stay in. Mom is in good hands at the hospital and they'll call if they need me. With her not knowing who's there, there's not much we can do but sit around. I feel like taking a nap but I have the grandbaby and she gets into too much. Yesterday afternoon I was feeling so much better, that I really thought I might go home today. However, I'll wait to see the doctor, but I feel much more short of breath today. So we will see. LOL. I really don't have time for this crap this week. I have to get christmas shopping done! I am in the telemetry unit now. Still not the regular floor but much better than ICU. I am able to get up and putter about this huge room. I actually got the corner suite in the brand new wing. Wonder of all wonders. Still no spa tub, but it has a lovely shower with 2 shower heads and a built in bench. I can turn around in it. I am here on this unit for 24-48 hours just depending on how I do. I'm going to try to sleep a bit. Hugs to all! Guest guest
Sorry to take so long to respond. You asked, "What do you mean when you say Dr. "did not respect your time"? Are you on Medicare? It is not unusual for docs to give Medicare patients less time or to make them wait while they see other patients first. Medicare patients may also have to wait longer to get an appointment with some specialists. The reason is that Medicare does not pay "diddly-squat".Answer: I was scheduled as his first appointment of the day. I had requested that information from my hematologist be faxed to him an hour before. The office staff wouldn't walk over to the fax machine to make sure it had been received when I arrived. He was late coming into the office. His second patient got there just before he did. When he finally came into the exam room, he began referring to the old blood work. I told him about the situation with his front office. He had them look for the fax, and it wasn't there, so he told them to call the hematologist. Instead of reviewing other results of tests he ordered (which his office had lost for almost 3 months) and catching up on what was going on with me, he got up, walked to the door and asked if I had to go to work. I've been disabled with MS for 17 years. My response was "no." He left the exam room and went next door to see his next patient. After sitting for 30 minutes, I left. He called my cell phone as I was driving south on 75 (he's over 25 miles from my home), and said he was just trying not to waste his time. I said he had little regard for mine since he could have continued my appointment. Just because I don't work doesn't mean my time is worthless. Yes, I am on Medicare. Perhaps I have just been blessed over the last 15 years, but the specialists I have seen have not treated me with any less regard because they agreed to take a discounted rate. Dr. Krusz, for example, takes time with all of his patients to such a degree that he has a sign posted in the waiting room about rescheduling your appointment if waiting conflicts with your personal time constraints for the day. Now that I am paying with my secondary insurance and cash, Dr. Krusz will not give me better treatment or higher consideration; I am thankful to say he has always given me his best. You asked: "Does Dr. Krusz see thyroid patients for the treatment of hypothyroidism or does he only treat thyroid issues in neurology patients?" Based upon our conversation, I believe Dr. Krusz would treat hypothyroid patients without neurological issues. I will add both doctors to the list. Have a wonderful day, Kim
Guest guest
We have seen Dr Krusz for neuro stuff, but he was quite quick to get a look at thyroid and ordered the correct tests. I’ve had similar problems with lab results and clueless office staffers. Anymore, I request my own personal copy of my labs to be sent to my home and keep them in a file. I then bring my most recent ones with me and allow them to copy off my originals. I can’t tell you how many lab results never did make it over to another office, and the lame excuses which followed. I have appreciated having my own copies, which has helped in tracking dosing levels with blood results and given a clearer picture as to what works or not.
