Peggy and List,

I am sorry to inform you that Joan passed on early

yesterday. Her organs gave out. She went very

peacefully; I checked on her at four AM and she

had just gone. She insisted that she be alone in

the room while everyone slept. She knew it was

time; we did not. In a way, it is a blessing; now

she does not suffer anymore, although I thought

that I would have more time with her. She made my

life a more peaceful world for me for over 56 years.

I am greatful for the support here; could not get

by without it. It is tough to submit the end of

the story to you but this is reality here and when

the end is near, we all need to know. Just be

prepared and talk things over with your loved

ones; be ready and settle all emotional accounts.

It makes it easier.

Hospice could not have been better. When and if

the time comes, please be sure to call them. They

comfort the person and also the family. These

folks are very special as some of you already know.

I will stay on here for awhile; you all are

precious to me. Will send a picture or two when I

have time. It will be a busy day today; meeting

family at the airport and making arrangements. I

don't drive so will need help all around.

Carry on and continue to be 'angels on earth'.

Love,

Bob in Utah

Dear Bob, I am so sorry to hear about Joan. Please know that you and your family are foremost in my thoughts and prayers. I agree that Hospice is wonderful. My mom died of lung cancer March 15 and I don't know what we would have done without them. I know your heart must be broken right now and I pray God floods your entire being with strength and love and peace. May you feel his arms around you throughout these next weeks and months.
