Hello everyone

I'm reaching out to the community for help , direction or suggestions. I got a

call today at HALO from a social worker at a children's home here in Texas . Her

client is a young teen boy that comes from a very disfunctional family,

essentially he has no family. Mom and Dad are not capable to phealthier provide

for him. Grandma stepped In initially to care for him and siblings but it was

just to much for her .

I believe this kid has aspergers from what the case worker described About him.

He's suffering from depression(threatens suicide) and can be destructive,

aggressive with others . Social skills need help( very low self esteem, no

friends etc. The case worker seemed very sincere in wanting to help this child

and admitted that their staff and professionals (psychologists/ counselors) are

struggling due to their lack of knowledge and understanding of autism/aspergers.

Are there are any agencies that provide psychological evaluations/ support that

know how to treat teens who are on the spectrum or those that are at risk?

Thanks for any information

Stacey
