Norah,

Just a couple thoughts on this.

First - does the diarrhes come when you eat certain fruits or just

any fruit? If it comes with certain things you may be having an

allergic reaction to them. I know my IBS gets much worse when I eat

certain ones - I'm allergic to or have a reaction to bananas,

apricots, pineapple, oranges, apples, and a couple more.

Second - have you tried starting out slowly instead of eating lots of

fruit and veggies? Sometimes, if your body is not used to having

them, you will have diarrhea because the body overreacts to them. It

may help to start with only one fruit and one veggie and work up from

there.

Okay, that's my 2 cents for now ;-). I hope you start feeling better

real soon.

Hugs,

> I've been following this thread on IBS and would like some info.

I've been trying to lose weight and eating healthy. I'm finding

whenever I go the healthy route and eat lots of fruit and veggies,

along with high fiber to lower my cholesterol, I get massive boughts

with diarrhea. It's almost as if my body doesn't want me to eat

right. Some days it's so bad, I can't do anything or eat anything.

It's all I can do to get water into me. Is Imodium helping others

with this problem? I was afraid to start taking yet

another medication. I'm starting to feel like a walking

advertisement for the drug companies... ugggh.<
