Hi Jenn....

PLEASE don't use the wipers to help remove the ash from your windows. The ash

is very abbrasive and will scratch your windows. As much as possible use air to

blow the dust off. If this is not an option, a garden hose with LOTS of water

to remove the dust is helpful. Use the wipers only when there is no evidence of

ash left.

Other parts that need to be addressed: Change your oil soon and often as long

as there is ash blowing in the air or on the ground. The ash is pulled in

through your air filter (which is probably not designed for ash) and into the

oil which then acts as sandpaper on the inner workings of your car. The air

filter aslo shoud be changed for the same reasons. A few models have filters

hooked in with the air conditioning, if you have one, change it. When ash is a

possibility, I cover my car with a sheet of plastic and then leave it parked

until the ash has been cleared by a nice rain shower.

When all else fails, I remind myself that 'this too shall pass.' Take care of

yourself.

Mike
