What the right to life at any cost people don't seem to realize is that

keeping someone " alive " indefinitely regardless of the circumstances is

*also* an affront against human dignity and life. I don't want to ever

be some gross parody of Dr. enstein's monster and I think it would

be immoral for doctors to do that to me, in much the same way as it is

immoral for necrophiliacs to have sex with a dead body.

The best lesson from the Schiavo case is for us living: Make

sure that if you wind up in such a situation, that somebody you can

trust has the power of attorney to give the medical order you would

want if you could give it yourself.

I certainly wouldn't want to continue life like that and I am

glad my mother took care of that before she reached such a state.
