Guest guest
It's supposed to be 300% of the poverty amount (if you can find that number...). Can anyone tell me how to figure out what the maximum income limit is for a family of four? Or if anyone knows. If my child didn't qualify for SSI should I even bother trying to get Medicaid Buy-In?We are hoping to be able to get help for one of our kids? Thanks in advance for you help. Guest guest
Here's the federal poverty charts by family size - http://www.coverageforall.org/pdf/FHCE_FedPovertyLevel.pdf. Look to the 300% column. If income for the family is that or less, then you've met the income guideline. Buy in is sliding scale. Some just pay fees, others pay fees and copays. Guest guest
Our case manager is with HHS. She was out visiting last Friday and gave us those details. Its a new program and they'd just had a regional meeting about it apparently. She said for chidren, they have to meet the medical eligibility requirements for SSI. There are no work requirements. The children's buy in info is at http://www.hhsc.state.tx.us/Help/HealthCare/Children/MBIC.html. They don't list the percentages there.
