Guest guest Posted June 19, 2010 Report Share Posted June 19, 2010 Chiari is when the bottom of the Cerebellum,what is referred to as the Tonsils herniate downward through the Foreman Magnum. That's the initial definition. Now, they realize that there are people with Chiari that have none to little herniation. There can be various reasons for Chiari. There are 4 stages, if you count Chiari 0, which is a newer recognized Type. This is a simplified explanation, I'm sure, but I hope it helps. Brande mymocha@... > What is Chiari? Never heard of it.
