Guest guest
This is really cool! Note, tickets going on sale May 2! My name is Regina Romano and I work with the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. The Hobby Center is putting on a production of the Lion King that is specifically modified for children with Autism, and I am contacting you to see if you can help us get the word out about this exciting event. About a week ago the Hobby Center sent a letter regarding their Lion King Autism Initiative and I have copied it below. On Monday the Hobby Center will be sending out an eblast with ticketing information because tickets will go on sale May 2nd and we want to make sure we get the information out to the right audiences Regina Romano Re: Hobby Center Foundation Autism Theatre Initiative The HCF is proud to announce the launch of our Lion King Autism Initiative, making live theatre accessible to children on the autism spectrum and their families. The first ever autism-friendly performance of a Broadway show in Houston will be Disney's landmark musical THE LION KING, on Saturday, July 28th at 2:00 p.m. Now in its 14th year, over 55 million people worldwide have come to discover the wonder, the majesty, and the truly one-of-a-kind experience that is THE LION KING. For this special performance, accommodations will be made, including a supportive audience environment, designated quiet areas, adjustments to lights and sound, and online resource materials. You will soon be receiving an eBlast with details about this exciting event, which will include information on purchasing tickets All tickets will be offered at a 30% discount, which we hope will enable a wide audience to attend the performance. To ensure we reach our targeted audience, we will not be publicizing the event through traditional print or media, and we felt it was more appropriate to rely on our contacts to get the word out to the autism community. To that end, we would very much appreciate your assistance in circulating the information to colleagues and families who may be interested in attending this performance via email or print, however you see fit. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at the e-mail address below. Thank you very much for your support! Very truly yours, Fran Macferran Jill Jewett President Project Manager, Autism Theatre Initiative The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts jjewett@...
