My Dr. has ordered a 24hr urine catch to be kept on ice till I turn it in back to his office. Guest guest Posted May 15, 2006 Report Share Posted May 15, 2006 Ginger, Thinking back---He went into my uninary track with a telescope to look around. Did some xrays. Did a scan as he gave me diuretics by needle into my blood stream. Had to lie perfectly still on a hard board while scan was being done (40) min. Recorded how urine was moving out of my kidneys. I think they had fluids running too. I remember how hard that table was. He figured out what he wanted to do and sent me back to lung dr to be evaluated for the procedure. He explained what he was going to do and he did it. All of this took several weeks. Every patient of kidney dr gets to leave urine sample every visit. He says that when the stint comes out {6 wks} will go in with a lazer to burn or blast open the restricted area. If that does not work--will go back in with another stint to be changed every 6 mo. Thats a lot to look forward to. The alternative is not pleasant to think about. I could have been born that way. We talked about how I felt about having the problem fixed. He talked me into it. Dialises would have been an opion later on. I'm glad he talked me into it. He is a good doctor and a good person. It's not something you decide on the spur of the moment. Guest guest Posted May 15, 2006 Report Share Posted May 15, 2006 Hey Ginger, It took several weeks of xrays, scans etc. Then he would not do the procedure without the o-k from lung dr. They did a spinal and I didn't feel a thing. He will go in again in 6wks to remove stint and do laser work. Sounds like fun huh.
