Guest guest
A very few folks need to stay on T3 only permanently. If your RT3 is well into the normal range, then I would be asking the doc to start adding some T4. I was approaching the T3 protocol stepwise and never got to all T3. But just reducing my T4, I was cold and constipated the whole time. When we gave up and added the T4 back in, my temps came up. Other things that can cause low temps are low iron/ferritin and low cortisol. >> Hi friends,> I see Dr. S for my potpourri of issues (HypoT, Lyme and Chronic Fatigue viruses..) and he started me on compounded T3 only 4 months ago. I presently take 75 mcg extended release and feel fine. He wanted to bump it up another 12.5 mcg in an attempt to bring up my morning temps, they still don't get above 98.0. I declined b/c at times I feel hyper. Not daily but occasionally I will feel like I injested too much coffee. So I'm holding at the 75 mcg dose. I know with Lyme it can really toy with the thyroid and throw symptoms off...> > Anyway, my question is how long do you stay on t3 only? Is that permeant? Just wanting to see if there is anyone else out there who is on this protocol...> > FYI, we have not rechecked labs aside from RT3 a couple months into treatment and it has dropped significantly! It is now back in normal range.> > Thanks,> >
