Guest guest
I just have a question I don't know if it is related or not... lately like the last 2 or 3 weeks every time I bend down or over and get back up I am blacking out... I just found out 2 months ago that I have Type 2 diabetes and all they have me doing right now is diet and exercise... I don't know if the heat has been a factor in it or not... but its not like I just starting blacking out... I have been doing it since I was a teenager but not as frequent as I am now... anytime before its been maybe once or two every 6 months if that... now its been almost every time... I do go see my doctor again on August 9th and going to talk to them about it... but just curious if any of you know why its been more frequent? thanks Angel
Guest guest
Dear Angel, Have you taken your Bg shortly after these spells occurred to see if it were high or low?? -moderator
Guest guest
... No I havent and that is another question I want to bring up to them... when they told me that I had type 2 diabetes they said I was borderline... and that I needed to see a nutrionist and all that... which I have been going to faithfully... but yet I have not been retested or told to check myself at all either... which I thought was odd... I mean how am I suppose to know if I am doing the right things... or what? I am so confused... all I know is that I have lost 25 lbs since I started seeing my nutrionist and that is all they seem to be focusing on right now... which I don't feel is right.... I don't know if I am overreacting on all of this or not? Angel

Guest guest
Angel - Losing 25 pounds could be your culprit. Your body has to adjust to not having to pump your blood as hard as it did, your blood pressure may just be lower than it was, if that's the case, it may stabilize. But you should still definitely talk it over with your doc. in Cincinnati

Guest guest
It sounds like you are having a positional Blood pressure problem. Has your doctor done orthostatic blood pressures on you? (take it sitting, standing, and then laying down?) Guest guest
Borderline Diabetic! don't get me started LOL This is a terrible thing to say to anyone... You are diabetic or you aren't. It's very good that your doc at least sent you to a nutrionist but he should have had you start taking your own blood glucose and recording it at different times of day. If you want to take control of this thing, this is the way to do it. Get a meter. Take your blood sugars every morning when you first get up before you eat anything. Then for a few days take it again 2 hrs after eating a meal (alternate after breakfast, lunch and dinner) to see how your meals are affecting you. " Normal " bg's are considered to be about 75 - 115. Under 150 is ok. Over 150 you can worry about possible problems. Over 180 is definately bad for your kidneys. I have gotten my bgs into the " normal " range by following a low carb diet. Different diets work better for different people, the only way you can tell what foods affect YOU badly is to test. To test a certain food, wait til you haven't eaten for a while... take your bg, eat only the food you want to test. Wait 1 hr take your bg, wait another hour and take it again. Your BG usually peaks after about 1 hour and should be back into a good range after 2 hrs. Hope this is helpful Meenie Re: Blacking Out >From: Angel24ls@... > >... > > No I havent and that is another question I want to bring up to them... >when they told me that I had type 2 diabetes they said I was borderline... >and that I needed to see a nutrionist and all that... which I have been going >to faithfully... but yet I have not been retested or told to check myself at >all either... which I thought was odd...
