Maybe a little vacation from it every once and a while

It's actually more than a good idea... it's necessary! I've read

this recently (I don't remember where though) that a daily (6 day a

week) exerciser should take a week off from exercising once or twice

a year.

Bev -

ok....I officially started my taebo 100 on June 10th. I might not get as

many miles logged in powerwalking as last summer, but I'll give it a go. I

have completed 6 workouts and have 94 to go!

I'll keep ya posted.....and you do the same...

Caroline, who is just putting on her walking shoes to log on some miles!

Good for you Caroline. Sometimes our bodies just need a re-charge break. Way

to go

on getting back into the swing of things.

I'm game to join you on the Taebo 100, although I may make it a workout 100.

I've

found that I need to mix it up a bit and not just do Taebo all the time. My

body

just doesn't respond well by doing the same thing over and over again.

I decided to start my 100 challenge on Sunday the 16th. It was the first time I

was

able to workout since I hurt my ankle last week, so I thought it was a good

place to

start...

Hope all is well with everyone...

Bev

Our school had what they call flex days throughout the year. Tristan stayed home for at least 6 days this year because of that. The reason given was that he would not be included in his regular ed classroom due to TAKS, and the teacher was tutoring other students for TAKS. I guess we could have sent him anyway, but he wouldn't have had good days due to routine change etc. This was the first year they have done this. Texas public schools know that many parents are taking their child with autism out of school as they get older. If we continue to do this, they will continue to get away with it. We have to fight to hold them accountable and make it possible for our children/grandchildren to truly have a free and appropriate education. Not all parents are able to stay home or afford a private education. There are also few private schools that can or will meet their needs also.
