Guest guest
G'day! For those of you who get your posts via email, you may not know that Yahoo has " fancied up " all the Yahoo sites. Personally, I am less than thrilled with the design. I don't know how the other members and the moderators feel about it, but I find the new setup rather cumbersome. Stylish, but cumbersome. I expect though, that like anything else new, I'll get used to it after I've used it for awhile. Part of what I look after for this group is the section for members who's email starts bouncing. Sometimes that list mushrooms overnight. Thankfully, I only had a handful of " bounces " to deal with when the sites were updated. The new and improved message pages are presented differently than they used to be. Instead of reading from oldest to newest, it now sorts by newest to oldest. So to read the posts in chronological order, a person would have to start at the bottom of the page and read up. Good thing the 'sort by thread' feature is still working. Here's the link to our website: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/chronic_pain/ There's a petition going around (already) demanding Yahoo change everything back to the old model. I didn't sign the petition for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I sincerely doubt that Yahoo is going to change it back. They've put considerable time, effort, and money into this. The advertisers are picking up the tab, so that we end users still get the service for free. (There are advertisements on everyone's home page as well as is in the messages). Yahoo isn't going to give us use of their property if there isn't some decent money in it if for them. Secondly, whoever put the petition together didn't even take the time to check the spelling, grammar and punctuation. Something as important as a petition should be proofread before it is sent out. Why some people think that the two words " a lot " are one word is beyond me. Besides the spelling errors, I feel they were more than a bit over the top in the wording. " Shouting " at Yahoo, isn't going to win any friends. (IMO of course:-) So far, there are 10,142 signatures on the petition, so obviously more than 10,000 people don't agree with me. <g> If you'd like to sign the petition it can be found at the following link: http://www.petitiononline.com/kham2087/petition.html -- Lyndi
