Guest guest
Sher, When I say I will not go peacefully into that sweet night, all I mean is I will not let the drs decide when my time will come. God in his infinite wisdom knows when it is time for me to come home. The peace that surronds me comes from God allowing me each and every day on this earth, but he also gave me a brain to work with. Even if any info we come up with does not help us, it may help someone in the future who also will face what we are facing. I pray when our time comes to meet God, he will allow us the peace that all of us want. (Husband and I are baby sitting while kids go on their first cruise. To Alaska!). First thing I did was sit down to catch up with the group. Welcome to the new ones, blessings to those who continue to "deal". It seems like I know some of you personally. In reading about going "peacefully into the night"...ya know, that is exactly how I want to go. I'm disciplining my mind and spirit to be more in touch with the God of my understanding so when it's time, I want to have reached a peaceful quiet readiness. I read constantly. Books on death and dying, most of them spiritual. I attend retreats and will do more now, perhaps a little different retreat now. I'm amazed at the calmness I feel. I do not have a "calm" personality as a rule but after the initial shock wore off a little I chose positive vs. negative. I have days when the tears well and flow but learning to trust God more does bring me a certain source of peace. Oh, if I can just hang on to it. I'll be home again Thursday to check on the cat and then gone again 'till Sat. My thoughts and prayers are with you all! Sher ipf 5-06 Blab-away for as little as 1¢/min.
