Guest guest
Grey, I'm with you on the pain. Its such a visious circle. Even the thought of up coming pain from coughing, ranting, singing was stressful. Is there any kind of Pain Management program available through your PulSpec?? I've been on a very low dose of methadone for almost two months. Before that I was starting fights in the neighborhood just to be takin out of my pain. I'm pain can make you crazy. Please let your MD know what your life is like for you right now. This is the time to "act out" as they say. Do what ever you have to do. My friends have been amazed in the difference in me. Now that I'm not in pain, anticipation pain, thinking about pain...I feel like a human being again. You don't have to "suck it up", "walk it off", any of that old school thinking. You do not have to live your life in pain. LynnA >> Hey Joyce and the rest of the gang. Wish I had something to say that > would make you feel better. Guest guest
Grey, Can you get refills on your pain meds. So sorry that you are suffering so. I think I have broken ribs again. But, so far I am taking 4 Advils at a time and using my 'bed buddy'. If you don't have one, get one. I can wrap it around my ribs and it is so soothing. At least you have the rest of us complaining online, so that you have something to read. We are a chatty group. I am so thankful for you all. Hugs, Joyce PF 1997>> Hey Joyce and the rest of the gang. Guest guest
Hey Gray, Sorry to here about all the pain, but glad to hear from you .Have you been taught bio-feedback for pain relief. Sit in a comfy chair close your eyes and imagine the most peaceful scene you can remember. Breath in a rythmic pattern and relax. Tell your body the pain is getting easier and easier. It really does work. Just takes concentration. Make sure in a quiet place. Imagine pain slowly leaving ribs going down thru body to feet and out the toes. A form of self hypnosis, but try, I use for back pain and it's the only way to go. I wish you were close, I keep med cabinet full of the "good stuff". Guest guest
<big sigh>...hurried right to that web sight Bed Buddy.Com., boy was I in for a let down. "They are wonderful for cold feet and leg cramps. But, especially good for rib pain because it wraps around." You can imagine my disappointment. With all the foot and leg problems I've been having, just knew I had gone to the right place. And for rib discomfort, I could be wrapped around? Well...a girl can dream can't she???? Guest guest
Grey, This is the website for the Bed Buddy. They have them at drugstores. http://www.esgmassage.com/the_bed_buddy.htm They are wonderful for cold feet and leg cramps. But, especially good for rib pain because it wraps around. Heating pads are not safe to use with oxygen. Wish you would ask your doc about a pain clinic or some pain killers. Nothing is so depressing as pain. Please stay strong...we need you around here. Hugs and many prayers, Joyce PF 1997> >> > Hey Joyce and the rest of the gang. Wish I had something to say that > > would make you feel better.
