Janet, When you go outside, what bothers you mostly. Is it lung

problem, asthma, or general malaise?

Ginger Snap,

Is there a hint of desperation and dispair in you email?

We all get tired sometimes, but we all have to hang in there. If for no

other reason than to get our stories out to help others.

We know the feeling, we left Indiana with next to nothing and a van with

200,000 miles. About a week and a half ago we had it out with our landlord for

not fixing the furnace and the hot water, I know they will fix it for the next

tenant because who is going to rent a house with no heat and a ritual to having

running hot water, (either that or flood the basement and spend a fortune

heating the water). As a result, we have to be out on Friday, we will be

homeless once again with a handicapped boy and two kids. Then last week we lost

about 50% of our income, and the hits just keep coming.

Even though our situations are not the same, we can sympathize because the

feeling of despair is the same. Hang in there, we need each others shoulders to

cry on.

Perhaps you should consult with another doctor. Do you feel the

steroids have helped you? I wonder if steriods pump up your immune

system OR pump up a fungal, viral or bacterial infection if there are

any, and probably if you are run down, there probably are. I don't

know how they know for sure WHAT gets pumped up by steriods. I doubt

they do either. I don't know how they can confine the steriods to

target what they want.

Don't go off of them suddenly though. From what I hear you have to

taper down very slowly. " I'm not a doctor " , so take this with the

proverbial " grain of salt " However maybe you need to try a different

approach.

I first felt sick in 2003. It's hard to believe, as hard as I have

tried to get my health back, that I am still struggling with it.

HOWEVER, I have made some significant gains, which I am thankful for

but sooooo very far away from where I was in 2003.

Life is full of struggles and this is one hell of one. I hope to find

life full of fun again. Just have to keep hoping and working with

that in mind. At least your work will pay off in being less sick than

you would be otherwise!!!

Hang in there! We all understand how you are feeling. We have all felt

this way at some point. In fact I feel this way now. How much more can

any of us take? But then I always think about the children in Darfur,

Africa who have nothing and it helps remind me that things here (in

America) could be a lot worse.

hang in there girl, Barbs right, maybe a second opion wouldm't hurt.

I dont know what to think about steriod drugs myself. I know I had

bad reactions to some while exposed and I know that some actually

suppress the immune system which would make us more vonerable to

viruses. I can't say I trust most doctors to know whats best for us.

they may mean well but dont have a understanding of everything going

on. the ent I went to told me they really dont like doing sergery to

remove cysts if they can keep the swelling down and gave me samples

of nasonex to try I haven't tried any steroids for a few years

because of past reactions. I looked it up and found it is a immune

suppresser. tried it once and after awhile my sinuses and face felt

on fire. than seen on tv ad. that it said increased risk for viral

infections, thats scary, but maybe if I just use it like once a week?

I dont know.

We all need to write our Congresspeople and Senators and complain about the

medical organizations and insurance companies war against us and push for a

complete overhaul of the CDC, etc. so that they actually do start trying to

find a cure for mold illnesses rather than deny their existence.

Also, things like stem cell transplants may offer new hope to people who are

really sick. It may take a decade or two to come to fruition, but the

younger people on here may be able to take advantage of things like that,

assuming they can pay or the insurance companies don't stand in the way.

***Really***

Janet, I'm about the same way, but I DO go to walmart occasionally, etc......but

that's about it, except for church. This is NOT all there is, Janet.....one day

we'll PROVE all this crap, & then we'll be VICTORIOUS........

My name is , & I SWEAR, one day I will be just that....as ALL of us

will.

Take care, Janet, & God bless us all.
