Guest guest
I come from terror land (Israel) So I am over qualified to talk about this issue My opinion on the terror matter is: All war belongs on paper, dah! Any questions? T -- Re: what is an enemy? [Roslyn] im sure the terrorists think there will be peace on earth when western civilization is gone and we think its true if their gone. [Jaspe] Dear Roslyn, We can not know what terrorists really think -remember questions 1 and 2 of the work- neither can they know what we westerns really think of them. By the way, I am happy you like the music of the link I posted
Guest guest
Dear Andy, >> When we become attached to an unquestioned story in our mind, we may >> see people in a different light: that was what I wanted to mean when >> I was talking about what we think an enemy is. > *****We are the stories. There is no " we " who " have " stories. Now, THAT's a story! There may be no " we " or " I " , or anything to be " had " . So, my take is: " no (read as: don't resonate with that story), we ARE not stories. They COULD be everything we can perceive. We may even identify with them. " But I'd rather go towards it from an curious point of view, e.g. What would I be without THAT story? Eventually, all will fall away, and for so long... I take the illusion, anyway (what choice do I have, right? >> Without a story, a person who likes or wants your spouse is simply a >> person who wants or likes your spouse, not your " enemy " . >> >> Without a story, a person who wants the same job you are applying >> for is not your enemy, is just a person who has MUCH in common with >> you. > *****And is, in that context, is not perhaps your enemy but your > competition. The way I heard it, the question wasn't about WHO YOUR enemy is, but WHAT an " enemy " is as such. It's anything that threatens to interfere with my dreams. Because I can only have an enemy, as long as there is anything that could be taken away from me. If I had no dreams - or if I knew my dreams could not be threatened by ANYTHING - what would an enemy look like? Which leaves us alone with thought. >> We want peace in the world? We can see everybody in the light of >> what it is. Obviously we won't do that before the right time, that >> is, before we realize it. > *****Sure, everybody wants peace. No disagreement on THAT. You want > peace, yes? So do I............as long as it is on MY terms. ;-)) And peace at every costs it is, then... So what is this peace everyone wants? Is it peace, when no bullets are fired? Is it peace, when no one hits anyone else? Is it, when no one hurts anyone else, intentionally? How would I see that? Now, my take on this is... as long as I don't have inner peace, with the world as such, even if there was world peace... I'd miss it. Guest guest
> So what I actually hear from you is that what you call your enemy is > what you call your friend. Someone that gives the opportunity for > you to do the work and find freedom - Smart boy! > and that's what you wanted > friends for anyway. Acutally, it's not what I look for in what I call friends. I'd say: it's friends in disguise. A disguise I project onto them.
