Guest guest
I'm not sure I understand. My doctor also prescribed Prempro because I have gone through menopause. Does that mean the tests that she told me tell her everything she needs to know(the Totals) don't really tell her anything? Guest guest
That is correct, the estrogens in the Prempro will cause much of your thyroid to be bound. The Totals do not tell her anything of value. They just give her an excuse to keep you undermedicated. I would also be concerned about the use of Prempro or any other non-bio-identical hormones. Premarin is made from pregnant horse urine and contains something like nine strong equine estrogens. Even though humans have estrone, the estrone in Premarin is conjugated, methylated or ethylated to make it last longer, thus, clogging up the receptor. And the Provera is a progestin, not bio-identical progesterone. While you are looking for a good thyroid doc, I would suggest that you find one willing to prescribe a balanced program of bio-identical hormones. > > >> > > > > > > > > Hi Kim,> > > Thanks for the welcome. Guest guest
Would it be bettr if I quit taking the Prempro for now? Would it make my test results more accurate? I have the names of a couple of local doctors that prescribe the natural thyroid hormones. I called a couple of compounding pharmacies here and they gave me a few names to call. Hopefully, I can get in soon and they will do the correct tests. Thanks so much for helping me with all this info. I want to feel like I have a life again. Actually, I want to want a life again. Guest guest
We cannot give direct medical advice. Just find a new doctor. If you are thinking of seeing any particular ones, post their information here. Someone may have seen them. >> > Would it be bettr if I quit taking the Prempro for now?
