My daughter has an Ipad as her AT device. She is 4th grade resource room with Reg Ed interaction during PE, Music, Computer, Science, Recess, and Lunch. She is verbal to the extent of expressing wants and needs, but social language is low. She has had problems in the past with frustration when she cannot express herself or is confused with the task.

We use Proloquo2Go and we love it. The visual aspect of it and the ability to add your own photos and words helps make it personal. It did take the teachers a little while to get it set up and get used to it since they were not Ipad users before we got the program. Be sure to back up changes often on the program so that our kids don't go in and delete everything you do. Also, you can make a special page for the kids to do their own thing. I have found that while there is some stimming with this, it also promotes some appropriate language.

We have kept the other apps to a minimum since they can lead to stimming or tantrums if my child cannot have access when she wants. It is just easier this way.

I would suggest a Ipad for the teachers t put learning apps on and the student's communication Ipad stay dedicated to the communication program only. Christi taryn61301@...3000 FM 343 Nacogdoches,Texas 75964(936)569-6760 (936)615-3486
