Guest guest
Hair loss - all my daughter’s labs are good for everything (now) and she’s having quite a bit of hair loss. Her thyroid numbers are definitely low, and we need to bump those up. Her Ft3 is 2.7, and Ft4 is .8 - - yes, low. This is all influenced by an anticonvulsant, which is known to interfere with absorption, so we need to figure this out, for sure. My question is – does anyone know if either T4 or T3 specifically is related to hair loss? I’d start bumping that one up first, if there is a solid answer on this. She is on 200mcg synthroid and 25 cytomel right now. Someone had suggested that synthroid itself may be the problem, since their hairloss diminished when they switched to levothyroid. This hair loss coordinates with the timing of adding the anticonvulsant, so I have a feeling it’s connected to the drop in T levels. But which one? I can’t find an answer. christine
