Did it help?

I am helping a family with a 5 yr. old with ADHD and behaviors.

School suggested Brain Balance.

Am looking for parents who have tried and what was the outcome?

How was the experience for your child?

We did brain balance at the end of our son’s recovery. He initially was severely affected. Many things brought him to a higher functioning spot over 6 years to really respond well at BB. I know families who are taking kids who are less far along in their recovery, but they are needing 2 or 3 sessions and more biomed etc......

I can only speak for my child. For us it was wonderful. It really turned our child on. Prior to Brain Balance it was as if the autism was gone, but the damage had been done we had come so far, and still he couldn’t go to school. He was higher functioning, but couldn’t have a conversation, or a normal life. We were spending 6-10 hours a day in 1:1 therapy. After Brain Balance our child was turned on and was learning normally.

For the most part our son is at 8 yrs old normal. He’s fully mainstreamed and able to participate fully in his classroom. He’s conversational and playing with peers. He does however lack the experience that kids who had a normal development have been afforded. He’s normal now, but catching up. And we get to catch up in a typical setting.

He does have a strong diet in place, low stress, and low screen time to continue his brain health/development.

A few examples that were amazing to watch. Our son couldn’t ride a bike and after a few sessions the director said in passing “oh he should be able to ride a bike now.†She knew this because of the skills he demonstrated in the therapy (nothing close to bike riding....just exercises). Sure enough we took him home and my husband yelled “ get out here, he’s doing it.!â€

A few weeks into the sessions he looked over at me and said “I miss Daddy and Taylin. What happened to me? Why have I always been on a special diet and have to take so many supplements?†I almost fell out of my chair. He wasn’t conversational prior to this.

The last day that we left the Dallas area for our last session he said “mommy, if I ever flip back to my left brain, can you please bring me back to Plano.â€

While Brain Balance wasn’t responsible for his full recovery, it was a vital part at the end. While he was doing BB we only did Son-Rise therapy, no tv/dvd/computer, Body Ecology Diet, and low stress. Lots of daily exercise. I had him on my tag along bike everyday. We walked all through the hotel, up and down the steps each day. Everyday we swam and took a hike at a local park.
